Charles De Lucca Jr. Memorial Tournament

Charlie De Lucca Jr was a golfers’ golfer who introduced and taught the sport to individuals ranging in age from four to eighty-four. He showed them how to respect the game whole also teaching them to respect themselves and others. De Lucca, at the age of 78, passed away on September 9th, 2019 after battling heart problems for many years.

Some of the well known payers who De Lucca taught include: PGA standouts Bruce Fleisher and Erik Compton and LPGA star Crisite Kerr. Undoubtedly, the most important group of people to De Lucca were the junior golfers he instructed as the head of Melreese International Links for more than four decades.

One of De Lucca´s many legacies is the First Tee Miami, a program he developed to teach thousands of youngsters annually and to give them a second place to call home. Summing up the man is almost impossible; words alone cannot describe the contribution De Lucca made to society and to the lives of so many people. The Memorial tournament will benefit the First Tee Miami, the junior golf program he created and honor his memory.
